Why I'm supporting Love UK
Amongst others, Lorraine Kelly, Lauren Laverne, Louise Redknapp and Gethin Jones are supporting Love UK, see what they have to say below. Why not email us and tell us what YOU Love about the UK, or send us in your own pictures of your favourite Lottery-funded projects.
"I travel a lot with my job and as a result I get to see some of the brilliant things that Lottery Good Cause money has helped achieve across the UK. From the Sensation Science Centre near Dundee to the Tate Modern on London's South Bank, the money Lottery players raise each week is making a positive difference to people and places across the UK. We should celebrate the difference Lottery funding is making, which is why I'm supporting Love UK."
Lorraine Kelly
"I'm proud to be an Ambassador for the National Lottery Good Causes. I've seen the amazing difference that Lottery funding can make, wherever you live. I love walking through the glasshouses in the Winter Gardens in Sunderland - but without almost £4million of money raised by Lottery players, they might never have been restored. Love UK is about reminding us what a great difference we can all make - 28p goes to Good Causes every time we buy a Lottery ticket. Whether it's funding the arts or providing new fun places to visit as a family, Lottery money is supporting communities across the UK."
Lauren Laverne
"It's great to see the difference that Lottery funding is making. It helps to support some great schemes and places of interest like the Eden Project in Cornwall. The money being invested in grass-roots sport is really important too as there'll be lots of opportunities for our kids in the future! It's easy to think that 28 pence isn't much - but added up, it has really helped to improve facilities and projects in the UK, which is why I'm supporting the Love UK campaign."
Louise Redknapp
"There are some brilliant examples of just what Lottery funding can achieve - from big projects like The National Botanic Garden of Wales or Galeri Caernarfon, to small local projects like the Swansea Community Farm that make a real difference in a totally different way. I was amazed to hear that Lottery players have raised £21 billion to date, and I think that's something we should be really proud of. Love UK gives us a great chance to celebrate how that money has made a difference across so many communities."
